"Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an UNDIVIDED heart ..."
(Psalm 86:11)
In these times we are living, it seems that we are forced to multi-task more than ever before (texting while driving, texting while speaking to others that are in our presence, cleaning while speaking on the phone, helping kids with their homework while doing laundry, praying and worrying at the same time, grocery shopping while speaking on the phone). This causes us to have DIVIDED hearts. Do not get me wrong. It is good to get things done and to try to make the most of our time. However, when we do too much at once, we burn ourselves out; we cause ourselves more stress. Also, in doing too many things at once, we are not giving each task 100% attention; something is going to fall short of our attention and by doing so we may find ourselves in a dangerous situation or find ourselves having to do it all over again (double work).
We should ask God to give us UNDIVIDED hearts so that we may push aside the unimportant things and focus on what is truly important.
