Fire & Ice by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire;

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

  1. I've always loved this poem. It says so much about the duality of our humanity. I think it also says something about how we never really know what we want. As much as we try to make it seem like we know it all, we really are very ignorant, sometimes to our very own desires.
