Live like you're dying

Although the movie, The Time Traveler's Wife, is a little too weird for my taste, I can still see a good message in there somewhere. The whole time traveling idea is not all that realistic to me. However, for me, the movie is a reminder of how we should appreciate every second of life and appreciate the people in our lives.

The title of the movie pretty much sums it up. This guy travels through time and in doing so, he leaves his wife behind. He then pops up again after visiting his past or his future. In the end, he gets accidentally shot during one of his "time travels". Although his being shot was already anticipated, it was still difficult for his wife and daughter to deal with.

Ultimately, we know that we are mortal beings and that sooner or later we die. Yet, still knowing this, we take many things and people for granted. We should live each day with the purpose of making a difference in someone's life, putting a smile on someone's face, and not letting a day go by without telling those you love that you love them. I believe that we each have a job to do and we should do it to the best of our abilities and talents. Let's not waste our God-given abilities by not using them or thinking that they are worthless. Do not put all your focus on your troubles because if you die tomorrow, you would have wasted that time you spent worrying on something unimportant when you could have used that time doing something positive and worthwhile. Troubles will always be a part of your life but those you love will not always be there.
